Why Home Removal Is So Hard
Lice are stubborn. Most over-the-counter treatments rely on pesticides that lice have already developed resistance to — what many call "super lice." And even when a product affects live lice, it doesn't remove nits. Those eggs stay attached to the hair shaft, hatch within 8–9 days, and the infestation starts all over again.
That cycle of treating, thinking it's done, and then finding lice again a week later is exhausting — and it's the most common reason families finally turn to a professional.
What Professional Lice Removal Actually Does Differently
The fundamental difference is this: professional removal physically takes lice and nits out of the hair. It doesn't just try to kill them.
At Jamie's Lice Angels, our process has three parts:
Our 3-Part Removal Process
We apply a natural, pesticide-free enzyme spray that loosens the very strong glue holding nits to the hair shaft. This is the step that makes everything else possible — without it, nits are extremely difficult to remove.
Using a heavy-duty professional comb, we meticulously work through the hair and physically remove every louse and loosened nit. This step is what separates professional treatment from anything you can do at home.
After the comb-out, we apply a special oil to the hair. This suffocates any lice that may have eluded the comb. You wash it out at home — nothing left behind.
Why OTC Products Don't Compare
Lice have evolved to resist the pesticides in most OTC products. They simply don't work the way they used to.
OTC products don't remove nits. Eggs hatch and the cycle starts again within days.
Repeated pesticide exposure is not safe, especially for young children and toddlers.
The whole process takes about one hour. One visit. Lice and nits completely removed. Guaranteed.
Can I Do It at Home Instead?
If you prefer to try at home first, we sell the same professional-grade products we use in our salon — including our natural enzyme spray and the Nit Terminator comb — available for purchase in our shop. We include step-by-step instructions so you can follow the same process at home.
That said, professional removal is more thorough. Having a trained specialist do the comb-out ensures nothing gets missed, and our in-salon results are guaranteed.

Is It Guaranteed?
Yes. We guarantee that your current case of head lice will be completely resolved. If lice are found at your follow-up appointment, we retreat at no charge — no questions asked.
The guarantee applies when all household members come in to be checked and cleared or treated. This protects you from re-infestation from within the home, which is the most common reason lice return after treatment.
We offer an optional follow-up head check 3–5 days after treatment for just $10. Most clients find it gives them complete peace of mind before sending kids back to school.

The full process takes approximately one hour per person. This includes the head check, enzyme treatment, professional comb-out, and oil finish.
